Activities

The Bala region is brimming with outdoor activities. It was the location for the World Canoeing championships on the challenging River Tryweryn, at the excellent centre you can book a white-water rafting experience! 

Bala Lake has a sailing club (See list below for link) and a waterborne activities centre (see below for link to Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre) . People come from far and wide to use the lake for windsurfing etc. The River Dee is famous for fly fishing and there are opportunities for shooting game or clays. Walking is probably the most popular activity and little wonder with the wealth of beautiful countryside that abounds. Mountain climbing is also available nearby. For those who want to try out their 4-wheel drive machines, (LANDCRAFT Off Road Tuition & Driving Centres) there are excellent courses available from Bala. The Tourist Information Centre is located at the Lake-shore and has all the information you will need to find the activities you require, or maybe you will find new ones to challenge you. We will endeavour to assist you in finding training courses and to book activities in advance for you, however we do ask for as much notice as possible.

Get wet has 2 public access high ropes courses and a paintball park. The high ropes courses range from 8 - 20 metres and offer an exciting day out. Paintball sessions run twice daily in the summer months and one a day in the winter. Get Wet also offer other activities such as 4x4 safaris, canyoning and Team-Building courses. please call us anytime.
